    POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED DANGEROUS SUBSTANCE, 6:23 p.m. Thursday. Jibreel Elisha Elliott, 19, of Plainfield was arrested and charged with nine offenses as the result of a narcotics investigation being conducted on the 500 block of West Second Street, police said.

  • New York woman charged with trying to duck $123 cab fare from NYC to Plainfield

    A big bill and a bottle of beer added up to a rough morning for a woman accused of taking a taxi from midtown Manhattan to Plainfield’s West End, then trying to skip out on a $123 fare, police said.

    Julisa Gonzalez, 19, of Schenectady, N.Y., is charged with theft of services and being a minor in possession of alcohol, according to police. Bail for Gonzalez was set at $1,500.

    It was around noon on Wednesday when Jeff Morgan noticed a suspicious sight on a monitor showing live feeds from the network of security cameras he has set up at his Leland Avenue home.

    A man on a bicycle rode up to his Audi sedan parked in the driveway, peered inside and started using a foreign object to strike the vehicle’s window. Unsuccessful in breaking it, the man then mounted his bicycle and left.
